Can we donate $20 to help families in need by providing them with the basic necessities for their children get back to school? Curt’s Closet is a non-profit organization that supports parents with all the things that add up as your kid starts the new year including clothes, shoes, and backpacks. As a single mother herself, founder Ashely Wilson realized the financial strain of a new school year while recognizing the importance of the children going back feeling confident and proud of their school items.
Ashley founded this organization in memory of her son, Curtis James Wilson, who was tragically killed on May 7, 2017. Curt loved his community, and he brightened any room he walked into and touched many lives with his concern for others, his wit and humor and his sincere care. To continue his gift of love and to give back, Ashley helps families by trying to lessen their burden of the expenses they face when their children go back to school each year. She does this by collecting new and gently used items including clothing, shoes, backpacks and lunch boxes. “We are proud to be able to support Ashley in her efforts and ultimately help the community and honor Curt’s wishes to make life a little easier.”
